Washington, DC-- Tonight, in the sixth Republican Presidential debate, we heard candidates call to repeal the Affordable Care Act — which saves women an estimated $1.4 billion a year in costs and has meant that over 55 million women now have access to quality, affordable health care — voice their support for blocking patients from accessing essential care at Planned Parenthood, and fail to present a single idea that would help women get ahead.
Statement from Dawn Laguens, Executive Vice President of Planned Parenthood Action Fund:
“Call Bill Murray, because I think we just lived through Groundhog Day. After the sixth Republican debate, we’ve still heard nothing new — just the same out of touch ideas that would wipe out the past seven years of progress for women, men, young people, LGBTQ communities, immigrants, and communities of color across this country.”
