RESEARCH TRIANGLE PARK, N.C. - Tonight, Senator Richard Burr squares off against women’s health champion and senate candidate Deborah Ross to try to explain his anti-women’s record to North Carolina voters. The debate comes just days after he doubled down on his support of Donald Trump, following the the release of video of Trump making lewd comments and sexual assault allegations against him.
Quote from Dawn Laguens, head of Planned Parenthood Votes:
“North Carolina voters will not forget how Richard Burr supported Donald Trump as he bullied, demeaned, and disrespected women on the campaign trail. Women and families in North Carolina will not forget how Burr voted against the reauthorization of the Violence Against Women Act and moved to block access to health care at Planned Parenthood. Tonight, the women of North Carolina say ‘Burr, Bye.’”
North Carolina voters are not waiting for Burr’s empty words tonight. Instead they protested Burr’s record of legislating women’s bodies and his support of misogynist Donald Trump.

Richard Burr doesn’t care about women and families. He’s been a prolific anti-abortion legislator. If he had it his way, women wouldn’t have access to birth control and cancer screenings at Planned Parenthood, and abortion would be criminalized in this country.
